Como Lake and Ghisallo

ONE DAY TOUR / train & bike

Como Lake and Ghisallo

COMO/Bellagio - We leave Milan by train and in about 75 minutes we’ll reach Castelmarte, the place from which we’ll begin to ride, to arrive to climb the Ghisallo.

The Ghisallo is one of the most iconic italian climb, in order to climb it, you can choose the easier South face or the harder North face. It depends on your “legs and breath”. The classic way to climb the Ghisallo is the one which drive you from the Asso u-turn, along the Valbrona road, to reach the small village of Pescallo.

After the easy climb to Valbrona, you'll reach the Como Lake at Onno and here, in front of the lake and the mountains, you’ll have a short rest with a real italian coffeè or "Cappucino" with housemade cakes and patisseries.

The hard traditional climb of the Ghisallo starts from the Bellagio’s ancient wash house, called “il lavatoio”. You’ll reach it, after about 8 kilometers, riding along enchanting views of the Como Lake.

Arrived to the top you must visit both the little Church dedicated to the “Madonna dei Ciclisti”, full of cycling memories and the Ghisallo Museum, to which Fiorenzo Magni - Flandre’s Lion - has dedicated the last years of his life.

For our way back to Milan we can then decides to cycle again or take train:

- or the longer one, cycling until Besana Brianza railways station, and from here by train to Milan.
