Its main history revolves around the history of its Abbey- San Colombano – founded in 614. To bike riders it’s a strategic point for all the scenic routes that start off here.

Once you passed the hill the road descends towards Genova. You can ride up to the Brallo pass to descend towards Voghera and Pavia, or towards Rezzoaglio and the Forcella pass from where you descend towards Sestri and Lavagna.
The Trebbia valley and the Nure valley are connected by more than one pass. Between Perino ( Trebbia valley) and Bettola ( Nure valley) you ride over the Cerro pass at 770asl. On both sides of the pass the ride is easy with a few uphill stretches typical of the Appenines.
