Milan's waterways in our Milan bike tour / In the countryside west of Milan and along the Ticino valley, exploring the rural culture of Lombardy and Piedmont. The thrill of Piazza Ducale in Vigevano, the covered bridge in Pavia, and the abbey in Morimondo. Relaxation and good food at Cascina Caremma (Cascina it means country farm). We leave Milan in the early afternoon on Friday and return back on Sunday, about 6pm. We cycle along the canals in the park of Ticino and visit this charming small towns such as Vigevano and Pavia.

Travel Highlights / We leave the center of Milan on Friday about 2pm, in just a few minutes we move away from the city following the cycling paths of the Naviglio Grande, the largest in the system of the Lombard Navigli designed by Leonardo da Vinci, the canal that carries water from Ticino to the city. This water also facilitated transport by barge of the marble used to build the Duomo. About 200km kilometers, nearly all of it protected, amongst picturesque views of the Naviglio Grande, stone bridges, abbeys and woods of the Ticino Valley and his Regional Park.

Along tiny country roads we reach Pavia A quick tour between the anciet University and the San Michele roman church. After lunch, along the Ticino river embankment, to Vigevano with his precious and amazing Piazza Ducale. We'll sleep in a traditional "locanda" in Vigevano close to Piazza Ducale.
